{Review} Through the Ever Night picks up where Under the Never Sky (my review) left off with Perry and Aria reuniting, but there’s no happily ever after. Perry is blood lord, Aria is still half dweller and they still have different gifts. Everything is against them.
They've also got responsibilities. As blood lord Perry is responsible for more than a hundred lives, Aria has to find the Still Blue and save everyone. Their loyalties mean their paths divide. The separation is heart-wrenching. Perry feels betrayed, and with someone whispering in his ear, he's jealous and doubtful. It was great to see how far Aria has come from that scared girl thrown out into the wilds. She has become one of my favorite characters in YA, she's strong, determined, capable, she's afraid but she still keeps going.
"We lose and lose, but we're still here. Shaking in place, afraid of doing something. I'm tired of settling for this because I don't know if something better exists. It has to. What point is there otherwise? I can do something about it now. And I will."And also I loved the deepening friendship with Roar, the love and acceptance and support they give each other.

I liked seeing Perry as blood lord, seeing his every day life, his interactions with the other members of The Tides. We get to see him make hard choices, to make the decisions that show us who he really is.
In Through the Ever Night there's more action, adventure, loss and betrayal and the maturing relationship between Aria and Perry. I can't wait to see what happens in Into the Still Blue.
