{Paranormal Romance Minute Review} Vampires Need Not...Apply? (Accidentally Yours #4) by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

Vampires Need Not...Apply? (Accidentally Yours, #4)
This is book 4 in the New York Times and USA Today bestselling Accidentally Yours paranormal romance series.

Meet Dr. Antonio Acero. Heir to Spain's wealthiest family, world-renowned physicist, and dedicated bachelor. While on vacation in southern Mexico, Antonio discovers an ancient Mayan tablet. Local legends say it contains magical properties, properties that could put his stalling research on the map.

But is this really his lucky break?

When Antonio attempts to put the tablet to use, he'll discover that Fate has other plans. Her name is Ixtab, and she's quite possibly the deadliest deity who ever lived.

{Review}
"Teetering on the very edge of a long white sofa, Penelope stared up at the oversized, round clock mounted on the wall." (page 1, line 1)
While I didn't love it as much as Accidentally in Love With ... A God?, the first book in the Accidentally Yours series, I enjoyed it. I still love Mimi Jean's sense of humor, Ixtab's visits to a variety of twelve step groups were my favorite parts of the book.

I thought Ixtab was a unique heroine, I guess being the goddess of suicide is the definition of unique. She's very childlike. With her abilities and their consequences she's never had relationships and doesn't know what to do with the feelings she develops for Antonio. There's a charming innocence about her that really endeared her to me.

Antonio is in turmoil - family issues, an injury, a woman's voice in his head, a desperate need to figure out the tablet and Ixtab. Ixtab who taunts, infuriates, drives him insane and something more. A something more that soon eclipses every other problem in his life. Though he didn't stand out as much to me as Guy did in Accidentally I thought Antonio was a great partner for Ixtab.

Though a few bits of the previous storylines are wrapped up again Vampires ends with a cliffhanger.
