{Romantic Suspense Review} Watch Me (Dark Obsession #1) by Cynthia Eden

Watch Me (Dark Obsession, #1)
Watch Me…The first book in New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Cynthia Eden’s sexy new romantic suspense series…DARK OBSESSION.

He was hired to protect her.

Watching gorgeous Gwen Hawthorne wasn’t a hard job—but it certainly was tempting. Chance Valentine had tried to keep his distance from the sexy socialite for years, but when her father hired him to keep watch on her—as a twenty-four, seven bodyguard—Chance knew his control was about to be pushed to the limit.

He’d never wanted another woman the way he desired her. Hot. Intense. Consuming. Being so close to Gwen, Chance knew that he wouldn’t be able to resist her. So he gave into his need, her need, and he took them both to the edge of a dark and consuming desire.

But Chance soon realizes that he isn’t the only one watching Gwen. Someone else is out there, a stalker who won’t rest until Gwen is destroyed. Every day, every moment…Gwen is in danger. And Chance knows that if he can’t unmask the stalker, then he may just lose the only woman he has ever loved.

"Name your price." (page 1, line 1)
Fast paced. Intense. Passionate. Exciting.

Chance is all alpha male. Protective, take charge, dominant, but when it comes to Gwen he's vulnerable, a scared teenager afraid to ask the homecoming queen out. He's always wanted Gwen, but now, with her life in danger he is going to do whatever is necessary to protect her and win her heart.

While I never seemed to understand Gwen as well as I understood Chance I appreciated her bravery when she opened her heart to Chance, risking heartbreak, and when her heart did break, that she didn't wallow, that she got on with her life. I felt for her as she struggled with trusting Chance again, with letting him close. I was rooting for these two to get it right and get their happily ever after.

The storyline is full of twists, danger and action and the attraction between Gwen and Chance is scorching. Watch Me also introduces many secondary characters that I want to get to know better, some of which will star in future installments in the Dark Obsession series.
